Take a Hike : Garibaldi Provincial Park
Where: Squamish, BC, Canada
Hike Time: 6-7 hours
Difficulty: I couldn't feel my legs after

Garibaldi Provincial Park took my breath away. Literally.
Note: This is the hardest hike I have ever done in my life ( and I'm a frequent hiker.)
Despite all the horror stories I've heard about Garibaldi's infamous Black Tusk trail, I thought that this meant taking the standard trail would be a walk in a park. NOPE. The main reason why this hike was so difficult was because it was a straight incline the whole way up. Thankfully there were many picture perfect spots throughout the hike that we took enough breaks to rest and rehydrate.
First viewpoint: It's about halfway up the trail. You'll see a wooden fence and a small uphill path with the mountains peeking through the back. It's a hidden gem and honestly one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. The mountains look like they're painted onto the sky.

Second viewpoint: The bridge over troubled water. If you're scared of heights, don't go further. The bridge is very narrow and has no rails or safeguards in case you lose balance. Just don't look down!

Third Viewpoint: Garibaldi Lake
This is the furthest we were able to go. It was the middle of summer and it was freezing! There was snow on the ground at this point and we weren't equipped with hiking boots or jackets. We already slipped and fell on our butts countless times on our way up. That incline was no joke

THE DESCEND
The way down was a lot less painful but hard on the knees. It was pretty steep so we took a couple of tumbles on the way to the parking lot. I'm also really clumsy so keep that in mind! We were also racing against the sunset because we started the hike later that we should've but we got back safe and sound.
If you're planning on attempting this hike be prepared! Bring plenty of bug spray and maybe even bring along some bear mace. Hiking boots will be beneficial as well. As long as you learn from our mistakes then you should be good to go! It's a difficult hike, but the view makes it all worth it :)
Until the next advernture,
