Vern goes MIA: THE GATES HOTEL SOUTH BEACH

Hi friends!

If you've been following along on my Instagram you're well aware that I just returned from a trip to Florida. This was my second time visiting Miami and my first time travelling with my best friend Marriele. With that being said, it was a totally different experience than my previous visit.

This trip we stayed at The Gates Hotel South Beach and we had the best time! We arrived at the hotel around 12pm and they were able to accommodate my early check- in request. Some guests had to wait until 3pm to check- in to their rooms so if your flight arrives earlier than the allotted check-in time I suggest you call in advance and put in a request. To my surprise, they assigned us a room with a stunning view of the pool and river. After we checked in we just couldn't wait to go out into the Miami heat so we quickly changed into our swimsuits and headed down to the pool.

We spent most of our days in Miami at the beach/pool then at night we would head down to Ocean drive to experience the nightlife. If you're a beachgoer like myself you will be pleased to know that the Gates offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the beach, beach chairs, and towels as well. Another option is to walk to the beach, which would take us around 5-10 minutes to get to where the Gates guests reserved chairs were. (I'll be writing a Miami guide with all the places we visited to so stay tuned for that).

AGAVEROS CANTINA

We had the pleasure of dining at Agaveros Cantina twice during our stay and were able to sample both the happy hour and breakfast menus.

For happy hour we ordered the chicken wings, deep fried pickles, and fries. The deep fried pickles were our favourite as it's not a common dish served here in Verncouver. They served it crispy and thinly sliced, which made it even more delicious!

For breakfast, I ordered an avocado toast and Marriele ordered the steak and eggs. The breakfast food was tasty but personally I prefer the happy hour menu.

The Cantina is beautifully designed and I felt like I was in the Tropics eating there.

Our time in Miami was short but sweet. To be honest, the three days we spent there just felt like one really long night haha. After all, it IS a party destination and I would elaborate on all our adventures but what happens in Miami, stays in Miami ;)

Thank you to the Gates Hotel for this wonderful stay- we'll be back soon!

Until Next time,

Vern
